🇬🇧 Getting to the Marstrand island

If you are travelling from abroad, a good solution is to land to Landvetter airport, located on the eastern side of Göteborg.
From Landvetter airport you can use the following travelling solutions to reach the island of Marstrand.

🚎 By bus (approximately 1h 30min)

1. Landvetter → Nils Ericsonterminalen (Göteborg C)
   Trip from the airport to the center of Göteborg. You can go with Flygbussarna or Flixbus.
   
2. Nils Ericsonterminalen (Göteborg C) →  Marstrands Färjeläge
   Trip from the center of Göteborg to the island of Marstrand. You can take a direct bus called Marstrand Express (MEXP). The bus does not go very often so best to check for a matching bus before booking the flight so you are sure to get on it. To find the times (and find other possible journeys), go to vasttrafik.se or download the timetable Timetable for line MEXP.

🚙 By car

You can rent cars at Landvetter airport. Be aware that around the place in Marstrand the parking spots are very crowded so you might have to walk a bit to get there. There is usually some spots but they might be far away from the ferry to the Island. Up to 10-20 min of walking.
Some hotels have dedicated parking spots for their guests.
There is no cars on the Marstrand island: it is quite small so everything can be done by foot.

To get on the Marstrand Island you take a ferry From Marstrands Färjeläge to Marstrandsön. You can buy tickets there directly in the small house next to the harbour. You only need to pay to get on the island, to get off the island is free of charge. 
Ferry goes every half hour. During the night you have to call on the ferry 5 min before the departure time with a button on the ferry terminal, so it knows people wants to get on it.

Si vous voyagez depuis l’étranger, l’idéal est de prendre l’avion jusqu’à l’aéroport Landvetter situé à l’est de Göteborg.
Depuis Landvetter vous pouvez ensuite utiliser les solutions de transport suivantes pour arriver jusqu’à l’île de Marstrand.

🚎 En bus (Environ 1h 30min)

1. Landvetter → Nils Ericsonterminalen (Göteborg C)
   Trajet depuis l’aéroport vers le centre de Göteborg. Vous pouvez utiliser les bus Flygbussarna ou Flixbus.
   
2. Nils Ericsonterminalen (Göteborg C) →  Marstrands Färjeläge
   Trajet depuis le centre de Göteborg vers l’île de Marstrand. Vous pouvez prendre un bus direct appelé Marstrand Express (MEXP). Le bus ne passe pas très souvent, il est donc recommandé de consulter les horaires et d’accorder votre arrivée à l’aéroport pour être sur de prendre le bus à temps. Pour consulter les horaires et trouver d’autres trajets, allez sur vasttrafik.se (site officiel des transports de Göteborg) ou bien téléchargez les horaires via Timetable for line MEXP.

🚙 En voiture

Vous pouvez louer une voiture à l’aéroport Landvetter. Les places de parking de la ville de Marstrand sont très prisées pendant la période estivale, il est donc possible que vous ayez à vous garer à environ 10-20 minutes de marche de l’embarcadère.
Certains hôtels ont des places de parking à disposition de leurs clients.
Il n’y a pas de voitures sur l’île de Marstrand : elle est assez petite donc tout peut se faire à pieds.

🚢 Ferry pour l’île de Marstrand island

Pour aller sur l’île de Marstrand vous pouvez prendre un ferry depuis l’embarcadère Marstrand Färjeläge jusqu’à Marstrandsön. Vous pouvez acheter un ticket directement dans la petite maison à côté de l’embarcadère.
Le ferry fait la traversée toutes les 30 minutes. Pendant la nuit vous devez “appeler” le ferry 5 minutes avant l’heure du départ en poussant un bouton sur l’embarcadère, pour que les employés sachent que quelqu’un souhaite traverser.

Om du tänkte flyga en del av vägen så kan du landa på Landvetter, öster om Göteborg. Därifrån kan du ta buss eller hyrbil för att ta dig till Marstrandsön, beskrivet nedan.

🚎 Via buss (ungefär 1,5h)

1. Landvetter → Nils Ericsonterminalen (Göteborg C)
   Resa från närmsta flygplats till centrala Göteborg. Man kan antingen åka med Flygbussarna eller Flixbus.
2. Nils Ericsonterminalen (Göteborg C) →  Marstrands Färjeläge
   Resa från Göteborg C till Marstrand. Det finns direktbussar, de kallas Marstrand Express (MEXP). Bussen går inte jättofta så planera resan innan via vasttrafik.se eller ladda ner tidtabellen för MEXP här: Tidtabell för Marstrand Express (MEXP).

🚙 Med bil

Om man kommer från Landvetter finns det hyrbilar på flygplatsen om man inte känner för att ta bussen. En sak att tänkapå kan vara attd et är lite ont om parkeringsplatser nära färjan till Marstrandsön, men vanligtvis brukar det finnas platser lite längre bort. Man kan räkna med att gå från 10-20 min från parkeringen till färjan ungefär. Vissa hotell har parkeringsplatser till sina gäster, så det kan vara bra att kolla på innan man bokar hotell. Men räkna inte med att ta bilen över färjan till Marstrandsön, det är en väldigt liten ö. Därför behöver man heller ingen bil då det är enkelt att gå överallt utan problem.

För att komma till Marstrandsön tar man en färja från från Marstrands färjeläge. Man kan köpa biljetter i det lilla huset precis bredvid om man inte redan har reskassa med Västtrafik, då det är Västtrafik som kör färjan. Man behöver bara betala för att komma till Marstrandsön, inte tillbaka till fastlandet. Färjan går varje halvtimme, även på natten. Men mellan vissa tider mitt i natten går den bara om man kallar på den senast 5 min innan avgångstid.
